The no vote on a New Hampshire Casino Bill last week may have appeared to signal the Granite State would not add sports betting anytime soon. In reality, the probability is more solid than ever. The New Hampshire legislature killed Casino bill SB 310 paving the way for approval of sports betting bill HB 480. That bill passed the House in March and moved out of Senate Committee last week. The Senate may vote this week, possibly as early as Wednesday.
NH Governor Chris Sununu is likely to sign the bill into law if the Senate votes yes. The revenues would benefit New Hampshire education and the system would be run by the New Hampshire lottery. Rough estimates are $10 million of annual revenue for the state. The bill includes 10 licenses, state wide mobile, and a ban on New Hampshire collegiate activities.
