Sports Betting Bill Favorable to Leagues moves to Missouri House Floor

The committee tasked with sports betting legislation in Missouri advanced a sports betting bill that includes a fee paid to sports leagues – that the leagues call an integrity fee.

The bill including the fee is the first in the nation to include one. The bill also added a entry and infrastructure fee.

The bill moves to the House floor after the 7-3 affirmation vote in committee. Although the bill is not yet on the calendar it could be up for vote in the near future. May 17th signals the end to this legislative session in Missouri.

In addition to the “royalty fee” as the bill calls the fees paid to the sports leagues and the NCAA, the bill mandates that the sportsbooks pay the Leagues for Official League Data.

The bill also allows for mobile betting with up to three skins for each permit holder matching the successful New Jersey mobile setup.
